The Herr Memorial Library is currently looking for three energetic, community-minded volunteers to serve as members of its Board of Trustees for a three-year term beginning January 2013.
Members are selected for their interest in the library and its role in the community as well as for their willingness to devote the time and effort necessary to carry out the duties of a trustee. Members work with the library’s director, who is responsible for the library’s administration, in the study, evaluation, and development of library policies and long-range plans. Experience in grant writing and fundraising is a plus; however it is not required.
Herr Memorial Library, which is an independent member of the federated Union County Library System, is governed by an independent Board of Trustees that is responsible for overseeing the library’s management, operation, and maintenance. The Board of Trustees also controls the expenditure of all funds in the library’s budget.
For consideration or additional information, contact the Herr Memorial Library at 570-966-0831 or at 500 Market Street, Mifflinburg. You can also download an application on our website at www.herrlibrary.org under the “Adults” tab or pick one up at the library.
