Herr Memorial Library will hold its annual Book Sale during Mifflinburg’s Market Street Sale Days on May 19, 20, and 21. The sale will begin at 8 a.m. each day and will continue until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and until 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
In addition to a wide assortment of hardcover and paperback books, the sale also will include many DVDs that were donated by Valley Video and books on tape and CDs.
The library held a successful book drive on April 30 that netted several boxes of mysteries, classic literature, children’s books, and non-fiction works. Volunteers were Aaron Lichtel, Linda Stahl, and Pam Steele, as well as members of Boy Scout Troop 536: Denver Clouser, Trevor Clouser, Brooks High, Daphne Clouser, and Carol High.
Throughout the year, the library receives books and other materials as donations. Staff members sort through the items to choose those that can be used to expand the collection or to replace worn-out materials. The remainder is sold during the library’s annual Book Sale.
All Book Sale items will be available for a donation of the buyer’s choice. All proceeds go to support programs offered by Herr Memorial Library.
For more information, call 966-0831 or visit the library at 500 Market Street. The event also is listed on BookSaleFinder.com.
