There are many Union County residents who have the same name or similar names, and by asking to scan your card library staff members are making sure that your account remains secure.

To access your account you must first receive a “Patron or Alternate ID Number” and PIN, or personal identification number, by visiting your home library in person. PINs may be changed after the account has been activated.

Materials can be renewed online unless one or more of the following conditions exist:

  • The card has expired or been blocked
  • The material’s renewal limit has been reached
  • The material is overdue
  • The library user has any unpaid fines
  • The material has been requested by someone else

Although residents may use any library they choose, Herr Memorial Library primarily serves residents of the Borough of Mifflinburg, the West End Library primarily serves residents of Hartley Township and the Borough of Hartleton, and The Public Library for Union County serves the remainder of county residents and is the system headquarters. Roberta Greene, director of The Public Library for Union County, is the system administrator.

Regular hours are from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Call us at 570-966-0831.
