Herr Library to host children's 'Sheep to Sweater' program

Jim and Brenda Ocker will present a "Sheep to Sweater" program for children and their families from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sat., Aug. 14, at Herr Memorial Library in Mifflinburg. The Ockers, who will be dressed in colonial garb, will demonstrate the use of spinning wheels, weaving looms, hand carding, and drop spindles, as they explain how the wool on a sheep can become warm clothing for people. Children will be able to try spinning and weaving for themselves. Register to attend the program by calling 966-0831 or by visiting the library at 500 Market Street.
